The Big Purse Fetish Dispute

My husband has told me, that I have a pocket book fetish. Now I do not think this is true at all. I like handbags, purses, mini bags, and let's not forget beaded evening bags......I even like tote bags. I will admit that I do have quite a few of each.

Now before we go any further, let me explain............
Way back and I mean way back when hubby and I were dating, cloth pocket books were in style. Now as anyone knows they do not last long, especially if you use one every day. One year for my birthday, he gave me a really nice leather bag. It was beautiful! (I actually still have it). He said that it was not worth buying cloth bags all the time as they never lasted and you might as well get leather, because it lasts forever. Now mind you hubby is the type of person that if you have one of something than you are set for life.

Well the thing with leather is it never wears out, so it does last forever!!!! I get bored with the same bag all the time, so I buy new ones and keep the old ones incase I want to use it again. Now as I said before hubby told me to buy only leather bags. Now this is not a cheap thing to do as a good leather bag can set you back a few, but that is what I did. I bought all kinds of them over the years. I have pink ones, orange ones, multi colored ones, black, blue, brown, gee whiz every color of the rainbow and beyond! Afterall you have to match your bag to your outfit or at least to the season.

Therefore, when the spare room became my dressing room and we had to put up shelves for all the accessories, of course he saw the handbag collection. His first statement was "How many do you have?" I answered "Not as many as it looks". He started to count, but by 75, I stopped him. We really did not need a complete inventory. I know what is there, but that did not satisfy him. I had to agree to "weed them out" as he had stated. Now that was a hard thing to do. How can you get rid of something you might need later! So he said he would help me. His first question was "Why did I need so many blue bags?" Well let me explain, there are all different kinds of blues(I was in a blue leather phase for a while), being a man he did not understand that at all. We all know men only see one shade of each color. Why, was the question of the day.

Well I did weed some of the bags out and send them to the local thrift shop. I just hope they all got good homes. Of course, new seasons have come and gone and new colors are out there since the whole "dressing room" thing happened. New ones have crept in and Hubby either has not noticed or has just given up. Either way, I am so glad he did not find the wallet collection!!!!

Just a quick foot note:
I am off to our local JC Penny store. They are having one heck of a sale and purses are being marked down as we speak. I have had my eye on this nice little pink leather number! So you see this so called fetish that he says I have, is really his fault.

THE BATTLE OF THE MUD

IT’S BEEN UNUSUALLY WARM FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR AND WE HAVE BEEN GETTING A LOT OF RAIN LATELY. NOW MIND YOU, I AM NOT COMPLAINING, BUT MY “BOYS” (HUBBY AND SON) ARE CHOMPING AT THE BIT FOR SNOW, BEING SNOWMOBILERS AND ALL.
WELL ANYWAY, WITH ALL THIS RAIN MY YARD HAS BECOME A MUD PIT. THAT WOULDN’T BE SO BAD, BECAUSE AFTER ALL WHAT CAN YOU DO IN THE YARD THIS TIME OF YEAR ANYWAY, BUT WE HAVE A LOT OF THINGS THAT NEED TO BE PARKED. 2 CARS, 1 PICKUP, I COMPANY VAN, A BOAT, A SNOWMOBILE TRAILER WITH SNOWMOBILES ON IT. SO WE REALLY DON’T HAVE A YARD, MORE LIKE A PARKING LOT.
WELL TO GET ON WITH MY STORY, I CAME HOME FROM WORK THE OTHER NIGHT, IT HAD RAINED FOR MOST OF THE DAY. MY SON WORKS THIRD SHIFT, SO HE HAS TO BE ABLE TO GET OUT AT NIGHT OR WE ALL HAVE TO GO OUT IN OUR PJ'S AND MOVE CARS. HE WAS PARKED NEXT TO THE PORCH, MY HUBBY’S VAN ON THE STREET. BOAT IN IT’S USUAL PLACE..........
BUT THE OTHER CAR AND TRAILER WERE GONE. THE BOYS HAD TAKE IT TO HAVE A SNOWMOBILE DROP OFF TO BE FIXED. NOW AS I SAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DRIVE WAY SURVEYING THE SITUATION. I FIGURED I WOULD PULL IN FRONT OF THE PICKUP AS I HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM BECAUSE I HAVE A SMALL CAR AND THE TRAILER WAS NOT THERE. I HAD NO PROBLEM PULLING IN AND REALLY DIDN’T NOTICE HOW MUDDY IT WAS. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND STEPPED RIGHT INTO MUD. YOU COULD HEAR THE SQUISHING SOUNDS. MY FOOT WAS STUCK. BUT LIKE I SAID I REALLY DIDN’T NOTICE IT. I TURNED MY BODY AROUND SLIGHTLY WITH THE CAR REMOTE IN HAND TO PUSH ON THE ALARM AND THAT’S WHEN I NOTICE NOT ONLY MY FOOT WAS STUCK, BUT A SKUNK WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY CAR. FOR SURE I WAS GOING TO BE SPRAYED WHEN THE HORN SOUNDED. WHAT COULD I DO? MY MIND WAS SCREAMING "DON'T PUSH THE BUTTON", MY THUMB WAS MOVING IN SLOW MOTION TOWARD THE BUTTON. THE SKUNK WAS POSITIONED WITH HIS BACK TOWARDS ME AND HEAD TURNED TO WATCH MY EVERY MOVE. MY FOOT STUCK IN THE MUCK!!! OH MY GOD, I ABOUT TO BE SPRAYED.
I'M WEARING MY NEW COAT(AFTER A 2 YEAR SEARCH FOR THE PERFECT COAT) IT WILL BE RUINED.(ODD THOUGHT BUT I AM A WANNA BE PRINCESS AFTER ALL) I WAS REALLY STARTING TO PANIC, SO I DID WHAT ANYONE IN MY PLACE WOULD DO.......................I PULLED MY FOOT FROM MY SHOE(LEAVING IT BEHIND) AND RAN FOR THE HILLS(REALLY MY PORCH). MY BARE FOOT WAS COVERED IN MUD, BUT MY COAT WAS SAVED!!!!!
AS FOR THE SKUNK, I THINK HE RAN AND HIDE UNDER THE PORCH NEXT DOOR. WHEN THE BOY'S CAME HOME A LITTLE WHILE LATER, I MADE THEM RETRIEVE MY SHOE AND TOLD THEM NOT TO ASK!!! MY HERO'S
BOY WHAT A DAY!!!!!

Being Creative with stamps and ink

Well here I am again, sitting here trying to blog and finding it very hard!
Have I mentioned that I am into stamping my own gift cards and such. It is a very crafty thing to do. I am not very crafty and I don't really like to get my hands dirty....but everyone is doing it and I thought I would give it a try. I can do the simple things really well, but am not very inventive when it comes to the really creative stuff. How you get started is to have or go to a Stampin Up party and buy the stamps and inks and what nots. It can be very expensive and things really don't come with instructions, so it is a matter of really paying attention at the "workshops" as they are called. Well this is where my problem comes in. I like to go for the social part of things. Sure I follow along and make the sample product and even place an order but I do love the chit chat that goes along with all these things. My mother usually goes and her hearing is not really all there, so we try to keep her informed and we joke and laugh and talk, this usually gets the demonstrator giving us looks like we should stop and pay attention. It is kind of like back when you were in grade school and the teacher put you in the corner for being disruptive. Oh well, in my opinion these things are nothing but a chance to get caught up with people you haven't seen in a while and the hostess is getting bonus products on all the items you buy, so why not have a chance to chit chat with someone and have a few refreshments.
I have a party comming up in a few weeks, this is going to be my party so I hope we have alot of fun!!!
As far as making things from all the stuff I have bought........................it's like this, I have made cards for people and gift tags and bookmarks. But I have found that unless you are a stamper you really don't appreciate the effort and beauty of a handmade card. So Hallmark gets alot of my business.
Well I see I rambled on about really nothing for a while now, so I will make this my second post and hope for the best!
Thanks
The Princess
